[SOLVED] Recognizing new SSD.

I installed a new 1TB Samsung 860 EVO into my laptop to go alongside the current 256 GB NVMe SSD. Someone had previously told me this laptop doesn't support SATA but the laptop came with the bracket for my SSD and the SATA connection. When I start my laptop it doesn't show the 1TB SSD. Only the C drive. When I went into BIOS I couldn't figure out what to configure to get it to be recognized because it was being shown in my BIOS under HDD0 and my 256 GB under HDD1. Does anyone know what I need to do in my BIOS or otherwise for it to appear in my This PC list.

Go to disk management and post a screenshot here.
Guesses would be you need to initialise it and assign it a drive letter.

So GPT Initialize and select a drive letter?

Correct. Once drive letter is assigned, you should see it appear as usable in My PC.

When I go to My PC I don't see it as a drive, but I do see it when I open properties and look under hardware. Any idea why I can't get it under My PC like my C drive

That still hasn't been assigned a letter. You should see it turn blue like the others with a designated letter once its done.

You may need to right click and assign a letter.

yea just a matter of going to disk management and going through the steps of assigning a letter like you said.
