Hi guys

Wondering if you could help please. I am looking for a system to cope with the Autodesk Suite, mainly Revit, with smooth rendering etc. So needs to cope with 3D modelling. Also needed for gaming. I found this deal, I like the price, but would this be up to the task, and future proof?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361987588220?clk_rvr_id=1265690811134&rmvSB=true

Thanks in advance :)

EDIT:

Attempted a build, but went way over my budget, wasn't wanting to go over £1000, any tweeks to get it under £1k?

The system on eBay and your build are completely different. It isn't a fair price comparison when your build is much higher end.

OS: Windows 7 is too old for a new system. You will have issues getting it to function correctly. You don't want any OS where you have to run unofficial patches and hacks to get it to function. That is just asking for problems. It's time to bite the bullet and use Windows 10. Microsoft doesn’t require activation for Windows 10 to function. If you can live with a small watermark visible only on your desktop and disabling of minor personalization functions. You can run Windows 10 indefinitely without buying a license. As Microsoft decided to allow this I see no reason not to do so.

PSU: The G2 certainly is quite good. I just changed it to drop the price some. The Antec TruePower Classic is excellent quality. It just isn’t modular.

Case: Same reason to get the price down. There isn’t anything spectacular about the Bitfenix. It works.

Monitor: As you are doing 3D modeling. I would use an IPS panel for anything related to content creation, art, media, architecture, &c. You get better picture quality. This LG is also an ultrawide 2560x1080. You get more screen real estate and the ultrawide will be nice for more immersion while gaming. LG also has a regular 1920x1080 IPS for about the same price.

WiFi: You can get 802.11ac for about the same price. Why not? It also has an antennae extension.

CPU: At £1000 you are not getting a Ryzen 7 1700 and a decent GPU.

GPU: Cryptocurrency mining has wrecked GPU prices. I can recommend a GTX 1060 6GB or Radeon Rx 580 8GB. Finding a new one is another matter. I know you won’t like this. Go to eBay and buy a used one. That is the only way you are going to actually find one at anything close to approaching a reasonable price. Most of these are likely near new anyways. From disillusioned miners.
The GTX 1070 is over budget. Given current prices. If you were to spend extra for a GTX 1070 a GTX 1080 makes much more sense.
I’m leaving the GPU out of this list so you can find one. I’m not going to dig through the stores to find one which is in stock.

SSD: The Samsung Pro is too expensive for your budget.
Heatsink: Stick with the stock one for now. It will support a decent overclock.
