Recomended card for Blue ray play back and casual gaming

Hi folks,

I am upgrading a PC for a friend of mine at work (fell XPS). His main requirement is something that will be able to manage blue ray playback - sending the signal via HDMI along with sound. He also wants to do a little causal gaming but nothing too serious.

I was thinking of the GTX 560 ti - seen here

So - will this be able to sent sound an audio from blue ray via HDMI and manage playback without issue?

How is it for gaming (nothing too heavy).

If this is not a good fit then can anyone else recommend an alternative in the same price range please?

Hi - That GPU is fine for it's intended usage assuming 1080p or less resolution.

It should work good depending on the games and CPU. For blue ray it is no problem.

You can play a 1080p Blu-ray using the integrated graphic of a Sandybridge cpu (HD3000). Also my laptop with a lowly 840M GPU plays Bluerays just fine.
Bottom line is select GPU based on gaming and Blueray play back should not be a problem.
