Hi,
I have a Dell XPS8300 that I want to upgrade the graphic card to a Galaxy GTX 660 Ti SC 2GB. I was looking for a PS because the minimum is 450w and I have a 400w. Found the Silverstone Strider Essential ST-50F ES (500w). It's is certified 80+ and I can have it for $55. There is also the CX500 for $65 but is 80+ bronze and modular. Does it worth to pay 10 more bucks? Or should I buy another one? My budget is mostly around $60 CANADIAN with shipping (please use newegg, ncix, amazon, tigerdirect, etc .CA)
!!!Important : need a PCI 6-pin and 8-pin connector!!!
Here are my specs:
-i5 2310 2.9Ghz
-6GB of RAM (DDR3 1333mhz)
-1TB HDD 7200rpm (SATA)
-CD/DVD (SATA)
-GTX 660 Ti (when I will get the PS)
-SD card reader

Thank you

Hi - That is not a rebranded Seasonic unit, the OEM is HEC, a lower tier maker, I would not
recommend an HEC made unit. No positive reviews on it from the top sites, and power rating is at 40ºC
not 50ºC which the better quality EVGA PSU's are rated at.

Hi, what HEC means and which one should I take now if HEC power supply are bad? And how to know if they are HEC because nowhere in the product description I saw HEC. Thank you.

Hi - what is your location and your budget for a PSU?

Please see the database below:
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page2293.htm

You will see that the #600B PSU is mfg by HEC (and rated at 40ºC), better quality PSU's are rated
at 50ºC, which is just 1 indicator tho. HEC Orion is a lower tier maker.

If you look at some of the other EVGA nodels you will see different OEM's such as FSP (Fortron)
and Superflower (they tend to make above average PSU's and avoid the low end cheapies)

So, post your budget and location, I'll try and find a good quality PSU at a decent price.

Thank you,
My budget is around $60 with shipping for a 500-600w power supply (can exceed a little). I live in Canada (Quebec). I know that Amazon.ca and DirectCanada.com have free shipping for my location (maybe other website too).

Any of these will be good quality units for your system, I included the 650 because it's the best value, but the XFX 550 is an excellent PSU for your system.

If you don't want to wait for the MIR, the XFX is $5 more at directcanada:
