Recommeded SSD for my use?

I am doing an i7-8700 build on Asus TUF z370 Plus Gaming board.


For the OS drive, I will use a 500GB m.2 drive (perhaps the Samsung 960 or MyDigitalSSD version that Tom's Hardware seems to like.)

Here is my question: What type of SSD drive should I be looking for in a second drive in the 1TB size category?
It will be used for document storage, picture storage, iTunes library, etc.

Would the increased potential speed of an nvme m.2 drive really be of benefit in this secondary drive? Would a solid SATA drive be fine for what I will be storing on it? My board does support 2 m.2 drives, but is it worth the price?

Standard Sata would be fine in that setup , I have this one with a Crucial M2 as my boot , but wish I went with 960:
