Upgrading from 9900k to 12700k for pcie 4.0 also getting discount from micro center and selling 9900k on eBay so it should be a free upgrade

Pretty satisfied with the performance so far and in my country it currently goes for 180€. DDR5 and DDR4 variants available at similar pricing, wifi for a bit more. They are exactly the same else.

MSI Z690-A DDR4 wifi is the most popular Z690 on newegg.
That is what I am using, and for the most part, it works very well.

DDR4 vs. DDR5 is an option.
Today, performance does not differ significantly and ddr4 ram is much(2-3x) cheaper.

I suggest buying the wifi version, even if you do not need wifi.
If you have wifi available, the process of loading lan drivers becomes much simpler.

If I have any minor issue, it is with the inconsistent sleep/wake function.
It may be related to the monitor/tv that I am using or the graphics card

The driver CD included plus my external Blu-ray drive worked very well for me. If that's not an option, iirc you can include the drivers on the Windows installation USB stick, which you will need anyways. Didn't get the wifi version, since I will never use it and I didn't see why I should spend 40 bucks more on it... same for my boyfriend, same board (just DDR5 instead of DDR4) and similar CPU (k vs non-k). Heck, even a wifi stick would be suitable, which you can borrow if nothing else...
