Recommend a good N300 Router that can run 24x7 non stop

Hi,
currently I own a DLink DIR 605L N300 router. But from last couple of weeks it is giving me some weired problems. Like connections going out and I have to manually restart the router to make it working.

The problem is that my router runs 24x7x365 and I'm looking for a router that can hadle that load. As I'm from India having a super costly gigabit router will not help as we don't have that much internet speed to take advantage of it.

So, I come to you guys for a sugesstion which N300 router will you guys recommend me which I can run on continuous basis without worrking about the router. I have currently looked at some TP Link and Linksys routers but not sure if they can handle the 24x7x365 load.

Any recommendation guys?

It is actually an N600, but the Asus N56U is a good choice. The N68U N900 has been a user favorite for many years.

Almost everybody runs their router 24x7. Nobody turns them off. It doesn't sound like you have a lot of "load" if you have low bandwidth WAN.

Yes, true. Actually I have a 2Mbps connection here, so honestly having a N600 or N900 would be waste of money. I don't know about others, but I have 2 access points and 1 rounter in my entire premises. The access points generally don't run 24x7 but my router does. I previously had bad experience with other routers which generally goes crazy after 1-2 years of 24x7 usage.

That is why I'm looking for a router which can handle this continous usage for years without any hickups. I hope you understand.

The N600 router is just a dual band N300. N900 is dual band N450. 5Ghz can be useful if you live somewhere that a lot of competing WIFI signals exist. Most newer mobile devices are dual band. I wouldn't recommend buying a 2.4Ghz ONLY router today.

OK. So as I explained you everything, which router will you recommend me to get so that I don't have to worry for many years in future and can use it on 24x7 basis? Please suggest be one, which will be a bang for the buck. Should I go with the N600 one or the N900 one? I have two N56U that I use as access points. One in the garage where the temps are not regulated and it gets to 100F+. These are both older models and you may be able to get a good price on a used one, check E-Bay. Lots of people fall for the bigger number is a better router hype so they have "dumped" their older routers. I believe either the Asus RT-N56U or the RT-N68U will work for you. Take a look at the pictures, the N68U has external antennas so it is more visible. That may or may not matter. Both of these routers have second source firmware available for them.

Honestly, I'm really confused between N56U and the N68U. Not sure which one should I get. It would be really great if you can suggest me one. Also do you know if Asus provides international warrenty on their products or not? If they do then I will import from USA or other place. Also I was hoping if you know any site which provides good deals in these kind of products. I don't like ebay as many times they sell non genuine products (telling from my own experience.)

Also along with the things I asked before, what's your thought on Amazon warehouse deals? Condition - Very Good. I'm getting almost 10$ to 12$ discount if I go with that. Do you recommend that?

It is pretty hard to fake these routers. But anything is possible. I purchased mine used on E-Bay. If you are unsure, and don't object to the extra $$$ then get the 68U. I have recommended it to many friends and have not had anybody complain. I have never purchased anything through the Amazon warehouse. I said I got mine on E-Bay so I probably wouldn't have an objection.

I think I'm gonna go with N56U, its a vlue for money. Also as I don't have the insane inetrnet speed to truly take advantage of N66U, I think its a waste of money for me. Thanks a lot for all your help.
