I thought a JVC DX77US (letters are probably a little off) would have been my
minimum requirements. It has a great image stabilization, and the light on it
works well in the brightly lit store. It has a mic input, and line-in/outs for
hooking up to other vcr equipment. There even was a $100 rebate by JVC until
last month. But I read that somebody was starting a class-action lawsuit against
JVC because they are selling defective products and JVC refuses to address the
problems (and Best Buy & Circuit City don't help either with these particular
defects). So you pays your money and watch the "dew indicator" stop your day for
weeks at a time. People in Florida don't like camcorders that are allergic to
"salt air". The camcorder is "tape brand sensitive", and using the wrong brand
could wreck the camcorder & void the warranty. I seriously would have gone for
that model, but things quickly went to hell looking at the repair side of the
bill.
