I am going to order a Powershot A80. Can anyone recommend some peripherals. I am especially interested in a camera bag but Canon doesn't have one. Also, do you use regular AA rechargeable batteries or the Canon Lithium battery?

I have that one and use rechargeables.

What do you mean they don't have a bag? They have a small case specifically for that camera, model PSC60, (got that, too), which is just enough for extra batteries and a card, and they have other bags as well. Or just buy another brand of bag like a Lowepro, Tamrac, etc. Ain't like it's got to be a Canon. http://www.bhphotovideo.com

What other peripherals do you want recommended, if any? What purposes you need em for?

Thanks Auburn. Just wanted to check people's opinion on peripherals for this thing. For example I read somewhere that someone with an A80 really liked the Lowepro cases. Anyone buy the tripod?

Which tripod? I've got the Slik mini for that. Much easier to bring that along with it than my larger tripod for my SLR.

Lowepro and Tamrac are two brands I like and use.

Thanks for the input. Looks like I'll be getting a Lowepro and some rechargeable batteries with the camera. I'm also looking into the Slik Mini. Is that the manufacturer?

Yeah, Slik's the manufacturer.

Don't need a huge tripod for just a small digital. Something like these Sliks will work: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=search&Q=&b=286&shs=&ci=5711&ac=&Submit.x=12&Submit.y=10

B&H is pretty good. Can just search there for all their tripods.

Well, everything seems to be suggested apart from a decent card reader.
