Hi all,

I plan to build a new pc. I want to use it for gaming but I will do also coding/developing on it.

What do you recommend for me?
I will have MSi 5070 Ti Gaming Trio in the new build,
Kingston 32GB 6000mhz memory,
2tb samsung 990 pro nvme ssd.

For the meantime I will play games in 2k resolution but later might change to 4k monitor. I use to play single and competitive games as well.

I am in dilemma because so many good cpu-s but i am not sure which is the best for me. And about many of them I have read stablity issues 🙁

I am usually try choose the best quality but of course budget also important.

Thanks your help in advance.

The best gaming processor is the Ryzen 9800X3D processor from AMD. You should make sure the ram you're looking at has AMD's E.X.P.O advertised on the kit for maximum compatibility with AMD platforms.

You didn't mention where you're located, what your preferred budget for the processor is and your preferred site for purchase.

7800X3D, 9800X3D are great options for a gaming system.

If your system is multipurpose there is some argument for a 9950X3D or Core Ultra 285K for the extra cores. 14900K gets an honorable mention, but the power consumption is a bit high.

That said, small scale coding does not require much performance at all. If you are doing large application compiles, then the higher core count chips make more sense. Given you only chose 32GB of memory, I can't imagine you are getting up to that scale of work.

Hello,

I am from Hungary where almost everything is overpriced. So this case I cannot tell exact budget. 😅 Most probably

I am going to buy from a local store where they recommended for me the 9700x.
But I am not sure if it will meet with my expectations.

Also thinking about to get 14700k but the mobo and cooling for it is also budget hungry🙃 Specially I trust more in air cooler but I believe for it is already AIO is more required.
And also makes me worry about the issues what effected 13/14 gen intels.

@Selynelar, Hello neighbor, I am from CZ. I have had an undervolted 13600KF for about 3 years, without a single problem. AIO is not needed, with Peerless Assassin it reaches a maximum of 70°C. I have it on a Gigabyte Z690 UD DDR4 that I bought second hand, with an RTX 4080 Super graphics card. Absolutely satisfied. If I were to build a new budget PC now, I would use a 14600KF - the best price-performance ratio in our country and I would try to find a good second hand Z690 or Z790.
