I'm building a new rig with ASRock's Creator x299 motherboard. This will be for video processing. Currently I have G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133 (PC4 17000). I want to update to 128GB. Should I purchase a second set of these, or is there something else I should be looking at or recommended?

Solution
Whatever you buy, you should buy it as a whole new pack. Mixed RAM modules are not guaranteed compatibility (being the same make/model is irrelevant).

That's good to know about the same make/model. I didn't know that! I wonder why...?
I cover it a bit in this guide here - but someone asks for more detail about it in the comments so if you're interested, read point 4 and then then from comment #15 onwards
