Dear ALL

I would like to upgrade my VGA MSI Nvidia 128MB 5600XT. And I have read so many reviews on AIW X800 XT.

Kindly, I would like all the members in forum to provide me his suggestion and recommendation on the card mentioned in the subject, does it worth?

My System is:

MotherBoard: Asus P4C800 Deluxe

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz Cache 512k

RAM: 3GB( <2x 512MB Model: KVR400X64C3A/512> & <2x 1GB Model: KVR400X64C3A/1G> )

VGA:MSI MS-StarForce GeForce FX 5600 XT (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 XT 128MB)

AIW X800 XT is a great card. It's also cheaper than the standard X800 XT because gamers don't realize it's just as fast, and multimedia types don't think they need a gaming card. In other words, its cheaper because the demand isn't great enough to maintain higher prices. Unfortunate for ATI, great for you!

thannks for your reply.

do you know any one tried it before? because i have some questions.

does it run cool?
does it need a big space in the chases?
can i keep it run for long time ( 3 to 6 months ) ?

i have an ati aiw x800xt card..i wanted a fast gaming card with the mutimedia capability too...stock temps for me were a bit high at 71 c...i bought vga cooler from zalman that lowered the temp to 48 c...these temps are full load...1200+ 3dmark03...6000 3dmark05.....63000 aquamark03 using a 3.e pentium 4 with two gigs ram....i think my gamer card will be nvidia next time...good luck

Thanks you guys for your recommendations

so do you recommand any another VGA with the same capabilities on the same price range??

( TV Tuner & other multimedia things is not important to me )

I need the card only for gaming and long life at least 18 to 24 months.

Other guys will recommend the X850 XT, but I'm not certain what the price difference is. I only know that as X800 XT's go, the AIW version is the best value because it's often the lowest-priced.

if the all-in-wonder part isnt what you are looking for, and gaming is , the x850 pe (platinum edition) is the agp best from ati....with nvidia i would go with a 6800 ultra....shop around for good sales...pricegrabber.com or shopzilla....the ati needs less power than the nvidia though...350 watt minimum i would think...good luck

350 watt minimum i would think...good luck

if its about the power, dont worry, i have 2 power supplies installed in my PC ( Thermaltalk 420W & CoolMaster 480W ) in dual mode

Thanks all of you for your supports & advices

Best Regards.

I've got one. It runs really hot, temps aroud 70 under full load.
As for gaming, it works just like a regular X800 XT. Does a great job, but my CPU keeps it from really shining.
The media aspect hasn't dissappointed, either. Cool features, love the remote and it rarely drops any capture frames. I've been pretty happy with mine for the 7 months I've owned it.
The heat is a problem and the fan it ships with is really loud under load. I got a solid fanless heat sink and it dropped the temps 4 or 5 degrees and eliminated the noisy fan. Cheers.

Sure,
I am using the ZM80D-HP. It requires a fan blowing on it for this card, but I have a case fan that blows right across it, gets the got done.

I think you hit it on the nose Crashman. That does explain the lower cost of these cards. It would also explain why they chose only the X1300 for the AIW 2006 model targeting the "multimedia types".

Being a gamer, I stumbled upon this card for AGP's last gasp (from my current 9800 Pro - which dispite it's age is still a great card IMHO). I figure this will put off that major upgrade (read entirely new system) for another 2 years. The PVR capabilities are a bonus (big bonus :).
