Hi,

I'm looking for parts to build up a PC for software development.
Mostly SharePoint development and some mobile development, so it should to be able to launch multiple VMs, emulators, and some IDE and server application like visual studio and sql sever, SharePoint server at the same time.

So need strong Intel i7 CPU, at least 32GB RAM, and 1TB SSD. Not such a strong video card.

I need to attach 2 Monitors (with max 1920X1200 resolution).
I do not have any plan to use it for anything else rather than developing software.
I already have monitors, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals.
I have a flexible budget but rather to not spend more than $2000 just for the case and the its content.

Rather to have a quite machine, so I rather to pay more on parts than hearing more noise!

Any recommendations?

Best,

I want to offer you up 2 builds here. Since you are looking for silent, I have a variation on the PC I built for my wife last year:

I'm building it from scratch. I need to get the case and everything which goes into it.
I do not need any peripherals, OS, monitors, ...

Thanks! considering that I would not using it for gaming, is there any cheaper option for video card?
I'm going to put only SSD into it, 1TB is enough for me.
BTW, I rather to go with Intel i7 instead of AMD

I have updated my questions, with more details, and fixed some errors. Based on what I have seen so far I increased my budget to 2K. It is important to me to have a quite machine. I really like these:

Depends on what monitor resolution you go with. For 1080P you really only need a 1060 / 1070. For anything higher you will need a 1080. If you're interested in a small form factor rig I would suggest this - it will be better than any prebuilt you can consider:

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z270i GAMING Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard (£189.95 @ Amazon UK)

nothing more thatn 1080p,

what about this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FfMTqk
consider that I'm looking for something close to Quiet PC Nofan A490S Silent Desktop

There really isn't such a thing as a truly silent PC. You can make it close to emitting as little noise as possible, but to call it completely silent is a marketing gimmick. What I posted is more what you're looking for. That Enthoo Primo is not exactly what one would call "silent". You have to have some fans in a PC no matter what size case you're working with.

I just put that Enthoo tower because I couldn't find equivalent of Jonsbo UMX4 Zone Black Compact Midi Tower Aluminium Case in US. I guess can remove the fans. I don't understand what you mean by "silent is a marketing gimmick.", when there are no mechanical parts in the system it will be silent. the link that I post is a fanless system, no optical drive and no HDD. (SSD M2 are silent), the cpu cooler is fan-less, Power supply is fan-less, Video card is fan-less, and the tower has no fans. so what could make noise here?

That's a custom case. The bad thing with everything being fanless is that you will be subjected to a lot more overheating issues than you would had you have the fans in the first place, especially with the CPU. Without the proper cooling it won't be the same. Something like a Fractal Node 202 or Silverstone Raven RVZ01B / RVZ02B are your best bets for mimicking that system.

I see I guess you mean some peforated case with a lot of holes, those cases are mini-ITX, the motherboard that I picked is ATX. Thanks for your help.

I think I should give it a shot and see the result. I could always add fans to it later.

The Fractal Design case I have selected plus the large fan Noctua cooler make it virtually totally silent. The PSU has a hybrid mode which keeps the fan off until its needed. Most of the time you don't even realize this system is on unless you really are pushing it. Also I did not include a graphics card, you don't need it, the onboard GPU provides connections you can run 2 1080p monitors off of no problem.

Now the limitation of this system is the i7-7700 is still only a quad core CPU. You mentioned virtualization and honestly an 8 core CPU as mentioned earlier is a great choice for that. The new AMD RYZEN chips are GREAT for that and available for quite a bit less money than the equivalent Intel chip and for what you are doing can do the same thing. I did have to add a GPU as there are no onboard graphics.

This is a REALLY powerful software programming system that can do everything you want, and virtually silently as well. I realize PCpartpicker says the cooler isn't compatible but it is, Noctua offers free AM4 adapters. Personally i would do this one just because for what you are doing the fact it has double the cores and threads means it can handle everything you want to do at the same time with no hiccups. Its a much better multitasker AND value than a core i7-7700 based build. And an equivalent Intel processor (i7-6900k) is $1000 on its own.
