As a disclaimer, since I am new to the site, if there are other topics covering my questions and this post is wholly unnecessary, please direct me to whatever it is I should concern myself with.
Hello, I am looking to build my first rig this summer. So far I have managed to get a basic grasp on what to look out for when buying components, but I still am woefully inept. Here you can see my current build draft (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ypgkgs) and there are a few things in particular I am unsure about.
Firstly, my pick of i5 4670k or FX-8350. I currently have settled on the AMD, since performance is virtually the same and the AMD is a good 50€ cheaper. But I am unsure since the AMD requires a more juice and is hotter under load and one of my main concerns is noise and temperature levels, due to my current laptop having the most horrendously obnoxious fans.
Secondly, the motherboard, down the line I will definitely do some OC'ing and possibly upgrade to a Crossfire GPU system, so I do want a decently high end MoBo, but I am still quite unsure about my needs, currently I have settled on a safe pick with good reviews.
Thirdly is my choice of case and cooling; as mentioned above, low noise and temperature levels are a must for me, which is why I have settled on the ultra-silent and very cool (no pun intended) Noctua, but because the D15 is very new, there is very limited information as to case compatibility, currently I am relying on PCPartPicker's compatibility rating and some rather vague reports stating how it "should fit" the Phantom 410. Can someone confirm anything? I should mention that I would like sticking with a Midi Tower size, as I don't want a complete colossus of a computer, which is why I settled on this sleek case, which apparently has good enough cooling options to settle my needs for a quiet and cool computer. I should mention that the other main contender for case choice is the Corsair 300R, which seems to have ample space, but does not look quite as nice in my opinion.
Lastly I would like to know if I should choose a more powerful PSU, especially if I choose to add a second GPU.
Thank you very much for your time and any help is greatly appreciated!
