Before you read, please keep in mind this is my first time even remotely trying something like this. I would just like some recommendations for a gaming PC. At the present, my computer absolutely sucks at playing games. Attempting to play Minecraft on my computer turns it from a video game to a slideshow. I'm not asking for a lot, I just want my computer to be capable of handling even remotely demanding games. At the moment, I would say the most demanding games I want to play on my PC are Dark Souls and Dark Souls II.
Playing these games on ultra settings and 60fps etc. would be nice, but if that exceeds my budget by too much, then I'm fine going with a build that simply makes playing games on my computer an option. This would be my first time trying to rig a computer to be competent at handling games, so I haven't a clue where to begin or what to look for, and I'm worried about getting stuff that's overkill for what I'm asking for. Any kind of direction from someone who is more knowledgeable about this subject than myself (which would probably be pretty much anyone on this site), would be greatly appreciated.
I don't have a particular timeframe, nor a a particular budget. I'd rather not exeed $1000, but if I have to, I have to. If any additional information is required, please specify, I will provide to the best of my ability. Like I said, this is my first time doing this sort of thing, so I may forget important information.
Here's information about the current state of my PC in case it's needed (this is all stuff that came in/with the computer when I bought it years ago.)
CPU: Intel Celeron 450
Motherboard: Dell 018D1Y
RAM: Type: DDR3 Frequency: 398.0 MHz
Power Supply: HP-P301753 Max. Output Power: 300W
Graphics Card: Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset
Hard Disk Drive: ST3320418AS
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System
