Question Recommendations for a cheap-ish set-top box that can play H.265 MKV videos on a thumb drive ?

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a set-top box with HDMI that can play H.264 & H.265 MKV files from a thumb drive to a TV?

I used to use a Roku but the only one that has USB now is the Ultra and that's now $100 (when I got mine it was around $50). Are there any cheap android boxes that can do this?

Before anyone tells me to run a Plex server, this is for my Grandma. She has never even used a computer mouse but I can teach her how to pick a video file with a remote control.

Not a recommendation, but there are some fairly cheap ones out there you could try. Myself, I find a Windows NUC to be the minimum I would go for, but that is well into that $100 territory.
