Question Recommendations for a new desktop PC replacement for work + gaming ?

Hello, I know little about computers so I need some help in finding a replacement for my old PC. As much as I'd like to, I can't build it, I need a retail/branded one, please, anyone, a suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
I need it for work (high processing power) and for gaming. My benchmark game is SWBattlefront 2 (2017), it must be able to play something like that smoothly, possibly on mid to high settings (not low but not max either). Budget is around €1000 (euros).

Preferably, easily modifiable (accessible interior that can accomodate future mods), as I'd like to learn to switch some components to better serve my needs. Would be great, but it is not an essential requirement.

I'm asking here because I'm not "of the field" and don't know where to find people with computer experience that aren't just shills for a brand. I already tried a couple of different forums but got next to ne replies...If you have better ideas where to ask something like this, let me know. Please, someone, I'd be happy to hear any suggestion as I'll only have this brief period during Black Friday to get one.

Do you have a link to specific vendors that you might actually buy from?

Is it possible that you have access to a shop of some type where YOU choose specific parts and they assemble those parts for a fee? As opposed to you walking in and buying something pre-assembled from a major brand like HP or Lenovo?

Must you buy during "black Friday"? Can't wait a week or two or?

I would not have a lot of confidence in being able to thoroughly upgrade a pre-built because some of the parts used may NOT be industry standard.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Ok, so I'm in the EU, Italy, speaking of general vendors for consumer electronics I have access to Amazon.it, Mediaworld, Euronics, Uniero, Trony and other minor ones. I can probably also find some specific HP, Samsung and Dell stores.

I do intend on buying during Black Friday period to take advantage of the sales, total spending budget is tight and I also need to find a new monitor (+ I must brace for the December expenses). Lastly I can't wait too much as I need it for work too and am currently using a machine graciously lent by a friend. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me keeping it another month but I can't keep "pulling the rope" so to speak, and BF seemed like the perfect occasion.

Unfortunately I can't think of a shop that can assemble the PC for me. I'll see if I can find any info about it this evening but I doubt it. Issue too is that I know little about the inner workings /components of computers and I'm not sure I can vet reliability of some online pc assemblers in such a small amount of time. So if I can't find a reliable physical shop willing to assemble it (and help choose the parts) I can't take that chance. I'm afraid I'm stuck with a pre-assembled choice.

What you're saying about upgrading is unfortunate, but it is a preference at the end of the day. Sad, but I will renounce it if it is necessary for the fulfillment of more important requirements.

I found these on Amazon, the guys creating and selling these "standardized customized builds" seem reliable enough... I have virtually zero experince but to me they seem to pack respectable specs for the price, is there a catch? What is the better option in your opinion (price / overall build) ?

All of those are designated as "Non disponibile".............unavailable.

I have no opinion at all about that vendor...Megaport. Could be OK or thieves. I'm not in Italy and don't speak the language. It's up to you to locate a reliable source.

If you want an Intel-based machine, I'd try to find something with a 12th or 13th generation CPU. Those would have model numbers beginning with 12 or 13, such as 12400, 12600, 13400, 13600K, etc.

Thank for the suggestion about intel based machines.
You may have gotten an "unavailable" because the shipping is probably only National, to me they're all available and purchasable.
▪︎ About the source, yeah probably my post It's not phrased well but I was not asking about the reliability of the vendors, It was on observation ment to emphasize my question (like: "yeah, vendors seem legit so moving past that, what about the builds?"). My question was if any of you guys could take a glance and express an opinion on those builds, which one was better or seemed off or if some components maybe are well known to be incompatible. If anything struck/jumped out to you, either positively or negatively. That's all

The language barrier is a major hindrance on Italian language sites.

If you want an Intel based pre-built machine, I'd look for these factors:

CPU; 12th or 13th generation, probably i5; possibly i7; not i9; that would include 12400, 12600K, 12700, 12700K; 13400, 13500, 13600, 13600K; 13700; 13700K

Motherboard: this can be a crap shoot UNLESS the brand and full model name are given. You may be forced into a proprietary motherboard that is NOT industry standard. You'd likely want a board that specifies "Z" or "B" series chipset with a number beginning with 7 or 6. Such as Z690, B760, Z790, etc.

Cooling: air, not liquid; pre-built machines can be weak in this area. Get the brand and model number if possible.

RAM; 32 GB; not 64. DDR 5 preferable, but DDR 4 acceptable. Speed and other details are secondary.

Power supply; this could be a problem as pre-built machines often cut corners on this part. You'd like to know the brand and complete model number. Descriptions like "650 watt Bronze" are not helpful.

Case: you may not have a lot of choice. The builder may emphasize style and looks rather than build quality and air flow.

Drives: you may have limited choice. Try to get enough capacity and avoid traditional spinning hard drives. Either "NVMe" or "SSD" should be OK, but get the brand and model if possible. Acceptable machines might have one drive or two drives.

Offhand........a major brand like HP or Lenovo or Asus may be preferable to a locally known vendor of unknown reputation like Megaport UNLESS you have specific knowledge about the locally known vendor. It's up to you to evaluate the builder/seller.

I can't help at all on an AMD-based machine.

Oh ok, my heartfelt thanks for the clarification about Intel builds, especially the Motherboard and PSU clarifications. I eyed these listings because everyone was telling me to avoid branded desktops and to go for customs. I can't build it so I figured this was the best alternative, of course going down this route the vetting process for the vendor becomes a major step but don't worry I'll do my best. I'll contact them directly to ask specifically about those "problematic" parts, the devil is indeed in the detail after all.
