Hi all,
I have an old Asrock E3C226D2I LGA 1150 mini itx mobo I'm using in MY NAS and I have been trying to add additional sata ports, I have purchased a silverstone ECS06 6-port sata controller, but the mobo doesn't recognize the card plugged into the PCI-E slot .
The card may be faulty but before i try buying another one, I was hoping someone here might know of a 4+ sata expansion card that is known to work with this mobo.
I've have read that sometimes these motherboards don't like anything but a video card in their primary PCI-E slot, this mobo only has the one slot.
Silverstone has said if I can get another mobo to recognize the card I can try flashing it with their latest firmware. The other PC lying around won't recognize the card either. Hence it's probably a faulty card.
Should any PCI-E gen 3 slot support any PCI-E gen3 card?
Does anyone here have experience with expanding sata capabilities on the Asrock E3C226D2I ?
