thanks punkncat, just any tests to make sure my new build is assembled decently (i.e. thermal paste was put on well) and stuff like - if I have any bad memory or bad hd sectors, or faulty mobo ...etcThere are loads of good tests out there. Are you trying to check for scores or to see if it throttles?
One of the simple tests I like to run is the benchmark that comes with CPU-Z at the same time as running Furmark. Where those may not be the hardest things you can run, it still puts a load that is fairly unrealistic on the PC for an extended period. Great for seeing what the highest temps you should encounter in normal use.
To be fair, there are quite a few game benchmarks that do this pretty well also, such as Ashes of the Singularity.
well, I just don't want to find, say a bad core after a month and then it's too late for me to return the part(s). so I just want to find any problems soon so I can still return them and get replacements with in the 30 day return window... once it runs good and I dont see errors or problems then I can sit by and enjoy... hopefully before xmas vacation...Unless you have some specific issue, I wouldn't think running memtest or anything would be necessary. Build it and if things are working right, try not to worry and just enjoy.
thanks, do those also check all cores of the CPU and test all parts of memory you think? I have 64GB so I'd like to be able to test or fill all of it somehow...If you are going to check GPU for artifacting; Unigine Heaven is great. For CPU stability I find Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Origins will let you know if it's unstable or not within a few hours. CPUz doesn't always identify an unstable overclock in my experience.
In that case all I can think of is something like Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, or some other video editing proram like MakeMKV.thanks, do those also check all cores of the CPU and test all parts of memory you think? I have 64GB so I'd like to be able to test or fill all of it somehow...
