Motherboard: Asus Rampage IV Black Edition EATX LGA2011 Motherboard ($474.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($139.50 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($82.95 @ Amazon)
Storage: Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 4GB Video Card ($289.99 @ Amazon)

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($19.98 @ OutletPC)

Total: $1834.54

I like the processor and the motherboard I have picked out. I still need a good case, and a monitor or two. I want to stay around $2000. Any criticism and/or recommendations are welcome.

Thanks,

Jordan

You could definitely do better than your current video card, if you want to play at your completely maxed out graphics and all, I'd suggest a 780 Ti as opposed to the GTX 760. That is from personal experience, because I currently have the 760, and it is great and all, but some games are just too intense for it to handle 60 FPS constantly.

As for monitors, I have this one: Asus VS248H-P 24.0" Monitor
It is great, and it's just perfect for me, the price being at around $180.

I have this case: NZXT Phantom 410 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
It is also incredible, and looks very impressive.

If you need to cut back on some spending, I would definitely suggest that you do not get an i7. There is really no reason to get one unless you do some pretty serious video editing, from what I understand.
I have the i5-4670, though I would suggest the i5-4670K - just in case you ever want to overclock.

In conclusion:

- GTX 780Ti ($730) Really expensive, but it's pretty much the best video card you can get right now.
- Asus VS248H-P 24.0" Monitor ($180) Love it.
- i5-4670K ($~220?) Open to overclocking, great performance.
- NZXT 410 Phantom ($80) Amazing case, I absolutely love mine.

Edit as you please, as this may be over your budget range, though I hope I have helped in some form.

I have always been a console gamer, so my intentions were not entirely gaming on this pc. I am a computer engineer (just started), so I will be doing lots of programming and compiling on this pc. I might start gaming on this computer eventually, but its not my main priority. Do you think I still need the top of the line processor? Sorry, I should have clarified what this computer would be used for.

Oops! Sorry, haha, that should have been my first question. Trust me, I am by no means an expert at these kinds of things, I am just going off of what I've learned of this sort of stuff, and you should definitely wait for somebody else's opinion before getting the go-ahead.

Having that processor definitely couldn't hurt, so you could go on with the i7 if you'd like.

The video card, ignore the 780 Ti for now, the 760 will be just fine.

This gives you some leeway for the monitors, I assume you will want at least two monitors if you can for programming, I think I would - so you could either get a size down from 24", and be able to get two, or just get one 24" - both would keep you near 2K.
