OK, so I'm looking for a screen protector for my wife for Christmas (she has an iPhone 6). But I'm not sure which one to get.

First off, if I can pick up one in-store, vs. having to order it, that would be fine...but if there's a better one I should use that's available on Amazon (particularly if Amazon Prime shipping is available), I'll also consider it.

Right now, this is what I've come across:
-- Wal-Mart had nothing in stock for an iPhone 6/6s. 6/6s Plus, yeah; 5/5s/5c, sure. But not the 6/6s.
-- Best Buy only offers ZAGG's line. Considering that the Top 10 Reviews site had ZAGG's offering as #2, that's not too bad. I'm not sure, though, which is better: the $30 HDX (non-glass), or the $40 HD (tempered glass) models.
-- Micro Center has various manufacturers & types, but their store-brand Inland has an "oleophobic" non-glass model for $10, & a tempered-glass model for $16; both models come with an 'easy one-step' applicator to help facilitate installation.

My biggest questions are:
-- What's the primary benefit of tempered glass over the non-glass solutions? Is it harder to scratch? Does it provide more impact protection?
-- Is ZAGG that much better of a brand than the Inland store-brand that I should pony up the extra cash, especially since both have the "9H" hardness rating?
-- Is there another brand I should be looking at?

The glass ones are a bit tougher and in general protect the screen better.

As far as the brand, generic ones off eBay for a few dollars are fine. I had a co-worker that had some of the ones from a retail store, then bought some off eBay when I told him to check there, he said he could not tell any difference.

You can get a pack of 5 protectors for less than one from a retail store.
