[SOLVED] Recommendations on how to spend $700 on upgrades

I have about $700 and I’m looking to upgrade my computer and I’m not sure where I’d get the most bang for my buck. I mostly game with my computer (FPS and MMOs mostly).
Current build:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
GPU: MSI 1060 6gb
MoBo: MSI Tomahawk B350
Ram: 16gb 3000mhz
Monitor: Samsung LU28E590DS/ZA - 28 inch 4K UHD, 60 Hz, 1ms response

My thoughts on upgrades are the following:
  1. Purchase 2070 super (B350 has PCIE 3 and 2070 uses that)
  2. Purchase RX 5700 XT ( states it uses PCIE 4, so I’d need to upgrade to X570 and I’d guess 3600x) this is over my budget but I might be able to convince the wife
  3. Purchase a new monitor - something with higher refresh rate, 144Hz probably. Maybe something similar to BenQ EX2780Q
Which of my thoughts would serve me the best to upgrade my gaming experience? What would you upgrade if you had my current build and about $700 (specific models please)?

Thanks in advance for your valuable input.

Your CPU can still hold out well for gaming. So I say go for 2 & 3.

The 1060 won't be able to out many games at 1440p144hz. And it would suck to have a 2070 Super and not be able to take advtange of 144hz. So go both. If you mist pick, 2 first, followed by 3 shortly after. And option 1 next year when Ryzen 4 comes out.
