I am looking into building my first computer for GAMING, not extreme gaming just starcraft and such. I will be skimping out on the GPU for now and upgrade later when my budget opens up a little bit. I need everything even a monitor and keyboard so any recommendations on this build is greatly appreciated. Also if PCpartpicker says its all compatible, is it really all compatible and they make no mistakes?

Solution
The CPU is a 3nd generation Intel i5 (ivy Bridge) since then the Haswell CPUs (4th generation, the Haswell refresh and then Devil's Canyon i5 processors have been announced.

I built a PC with one of those a year ago (in fat, I'm typing this on it now) and it's a great chip. But I wouldn't build on it now.

However, if you're ok with that, then your build seems OK. Good luck!

Why buy an old ivy bridge when haswell and even haswell refresh cpu's have been released. And they're all at the same price. Here, I put this build up for you, featuring a 4th gen i5 and a much better gpu at the same price:

Has an r9 270x and an i5 4690k and a gold psu which is fully modular. And pcpartpicker is a very reputed site and if it says the parts are compatible they are.

That's a much better build :) good advice.

Yeah i'm pretty new to building a computer, since this IS my first time I have ever even thought about it. Didn't know what I was doing for CPU's thats for sure. Thanks for the help and I like this build a lot better than mine haha. I will definitely be playing around with this one more. Thanks!

Always ready to help. Enjoy gaming. :)
