Hello to all

Not sure if it is the correct section to post this question, but here we go ....

Mostly for a laptop, it can have an external or secondary monitor connected through either VGA or HDMI.
Therefore only 1 ... and well, some laptops have both ports, of course in some way the old models.

I have seen in some networks, as twitter, some laptops with multiple external monitors, from 2 to 6 in total.

  • What is the hardware component - adapter - that let do this approach?
  • What is your best recommendation of this to buy in amazon?
it for

  • Only VGA (i.e 2 monitors or more for VGA, it for old laptops that does not have HDMI connector)
  • Only HDMI (i.e 2 monitors or more)
  • Both/Hibrid
My uncle is coming to my country, pls if you can share some links from Amazon, it is going to be highly appreciate it.

Note: Is very important this hardware or adapter be confidence according with your own experience or direct 3rd party, it to avoid make a permanent damage to either the monitors or laptop's port - or even worst both.

Some laptops support docking stations. That is a model specific option. Some laptops have video out via USB-C. Some people add external graphics cards to laptops, but this is non-trivial. The other option is a USB3 video adapter with HDMI out.

Huge thanks for the reply ...

USB-C and docking station are model specific. Check the vendor information

it an ASUS laptop .... and it does not have the USB-C port, it has the classic USB port ...
does exist docking station for that common port?

About the links huge thanks ...

Does have sense buy some of that adapters and buy a multiport usb?
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=multiport
I am doing this question because each time the laptops are coming with few USB ports...

Thanks for your understanding

I believe that display over USB-C (the physical port) is only available over Thunderbolt, but I might be mistaken. I believe there is a USB class for Displays (USB type that allows a display to be hooked up through the USB
protocol, compatible with classic USB type A), as kanewolf said:

But that requires USB 3.0 for decent video quality. Do you know if your laptop has USB 3.0?

Do you have some models of recommendation?

Yes, it has, confirmed through Device Manager on Windows 10, even when this laptop was bought at 2016.

Do you have some models of your recommendations?

Thank You.
