The problem is i dont know what disk are compatible, does anyone as recommendations? ( my budget is around 300$ per disk)
Thank you in advance.

Hello, and welcome to the forums!

If I'm understanding correctly, you're asking about compatibility between the controller, and any possible hard disk drives. According to the product brief, the PERC H730 is compatible with SAS and SATA disks. The controller should support basically any drive that is SAS or SATA compatible. I don't foresee an issue related to compatibility.

As for recommendations on HDDs, I would say stick to the higher-end WD (also HGST) or Seagate disks. Now, I'm curious as to why you're saying you need SAS drives. If you do require SAS, we're talking (ideally) Seagate Exos 8TB (linked to Newegg here). Alternatively, if you could use SATA disks, then I would say definitely check out the WD Gold 8TB HDD (linked to Newegg here). I'm personally more of a fan of WD drives if you're looking for absolute reliability.

What kind of RAID array do you plan to implement? If you don't need all the space, and you're looking at having near-24/7 uptime, then RAID 10 is your best bet more than likely.

I hope this helps, and please reach out if you have any more questions!

Hello thanks for the reply. Yes Im going to probably use Raid 10. Do you know if Seagate Exos 15E900 the hardware-based encryption (SED) works well with the H730 ?

You're very welcome, hopefully you found the information helpful! I foresee no compatibility issues with hardware-based encryption. If you're asking for the purpose of utilizing encryption, then you should still be able to encrypt a RAID disk after it has been set up.
