Recommended Display Upgrade for Gaming

I still have the ASUS VG236HE from way back when "Avatar" made me think 3D movies were going to be amazing!

During the process of building a new computer this year (http://pcpartpicker.com/list/VyDMcc), I'm wondering if this monitor can keep up with the components.

If no, what monitors out there now would be a noticeable upgrade?

I'd say atleast go 1440p with gsync, its really good!
