I have been using an amd A10 6800k apu for the last while and ive finally decided that i want to buy a fully dedicated graphics card, although, the problem is that i dont know much about computers so im not sure what im looking for when it comes to the specs of a graphics card. I know that i want one that will be good for gaming, any suggestions for a graphics card would be very helpful.

Specs:

amd a10 6800k apu
2x HyperX Fury 4gb Ram cards
600w corsair power supply
gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3 Motherboard
1tb WD harddrive.

I also have the cit spectre computer case if that will affect the physical space the card will take up inside the case.

i recently got skyrim and its quite laggy, ive been playing warframe ill be looking to play some more intensive games later on as i dont have much of a games collection yet, but not on ultra settings, just medium or high settings would be fine with me, I'd be willing to spend around £150

It would work just fine, but just remember that more GB of memory on a video card does not necessarily mean it's faster. It can simply load more textures at any given point in time.

go with the 270x due to the 280 being a power hog and since your PSU isnt that great

Note:
600 watts of even Bronze certification power is more than enough to power an AMD A10, and an overclocked 280 combined with extensive peripherals under max load, all while maintaining PSU longevity and stability.

Don't buy into the excessive power-supply hype. As long as you have a reasonably built power supply, from a trustworthy company (SeaSonic, Corsair, etc)... then you should have absolutely nothing to worry about with this build, and your current PSU.

the cx models are terrible and will over heat with running a card like the 280

They are, but I like to assume everyone has moved on from the CXs
I guess it's never safe to assume that.

ryukashin, What exact model of Corsair PSU do you have? Does it say CX or GS on it?
