I need a new motherboard, preferably a good as it gets, and would like a few quick recommendations.

Keywords are: Performance, Stability, No overheating, Future-proof

Price doesn't matter.

My Specs:

CPU: Intel Q6700
RAM: Crucial Ballistix, 4 x 1 GB, PC-6400 CL4, DDR2, 800 Mhz
Video: EVGA eGeForce 8800 GTX KO ACS3
Sound: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro
HD: 1 x WD Raptor 150 GB, 2 x WD Caviar 500 GB
Keyboard: Razer Tarantula
Mouse: Razer Deathadder

Cheers,
Bassa

Anything based on the "Ultra Durable 2" series looks good for the 1st 3, nothing is "future proof" however. Rumor has it that Nehalem may be a new socket entirely anyhow, so that wouldn't be future proof.

I would wait about a week.
The x38 Mobos should be coming out anytime.
The official release date is the 23rd of this month, but rumor has it many vendors are going to release early.

If you are in a "Price makes no difference, you probably want one of those."

I am in a similar position. Apparently many people in this forum and Hardforum prefer the Abit IP35-Pro. I am deciding if I shluld wait for the X38 or take the IP35-Pro now !

My concerns on the X38 are it is a new chipset and it will be expensive. Also, there will be growing pain as BIOS usually takes time to mature !
