Recommended ISPs for Start up Business

Hello,
I am launching a start up business that sells cloud storage and other hosting. Currently the main server is home-hosted. I already have a network for my home but to maximize the speed and reliability of the network I want a separate network just for the server. I am looking for a cheap ISP in New York City but also a pretty fast one. Not super fast but from 10-20 mbps. I will pay from 10-15/month (USD).

10-15USD is about a tenth of the price you should be paying for a business connection. If the internet connection goes down you'll want priority support, and possibly SLAs. Also a static IP.

Remember that upstream is crucial for webhosting. Normal connections have poor upstream.

You cannot run a cloud/hosting business on that budget. Add a zero to that, and you begin to approach the lower reaches of what you need.

You cannot run a cloud business from home on a 20Mbps residential line.

I'm a bit confused - is the site just for selling the service of cloud storage or for the cloud storage?

Sounds like a generic webhost to me.

Sorry, if I wasn't clear about my business. As we start up we will only sell cloud storage. The main website will be externally hosted but the File Manager (where people access their files) will be hosted on the server I need the Internet for. Later on a separate server we will start selling web hosting.

If I forget the prices what ISP would you recommend? Not too expensive but it doesn't need to be super cheap. I guess I'll just have to raise the goals on the fundraiser.

So, you're hosting files from a residential (even if business class) internet connection. That's really, really, really not a good idea. Even running the webserver would be a better idea.

I'd suggest going and finding a co-lo datacentre near you.
