i have aorus b450 elite and my motherboard has two m.2 slot 1 slot is occupied(m2a socket) and i cant find an ssd that will be compatible to the 2nd slot (m2b socket). as i read the manual the m2b socket only support up to pcie x2 ssd.
can i still use a a m.2 pcie x4 ssd for the m2b socket?
any recommendation

  1. 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4/x2 SSD support) (M2A_SOCKET)
  2. 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280 PCIe 3.0 x2 SSD support)(M2B_SOCKET)
(Note) The M2B_SOCKET connector supports only PCIe SSDs
* The M2B_SOCKET connector supports up to PCIe x2 SSDs.

What processor will you drop into that board? I'd go with a Samsung 970 Evo Plus or their ilk on the M2A_Socket. Yes you can use a PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD but it'll run at x2 speeds.
i have ryzen 5 3600 and the m2a socket is occupied and im thinking of buying a 2nd ssd just for gaming
im sorry to ask again can i use the m2b socket if i buy a pcie x4 ssd? will it support?
