Hi Guys,
I am planning to build my own pc pretty soon and just wanted some advise on the overall build.
My first question is with the motherboard - Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 (Rs. 13350 ) - is this the best motherboard at this price range for perhaps overclocking the FX 8350 (Rs. 15648 ) in the future ?
The main reason I have selected this is because I have heard it has better VRM's and is better for overclocking ?
I also heard the MSI ones in general are bad boards for overclock due to poor thermal design. (I had this in mind - MSI 990FXA-GD80 - Rs. 12900 )
Meanwhile Gigabyte boards seem to have issues with each revision ( BIOS and general system issues ) ( I had these two in mind Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 - Rs. 9998 & Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 - Rs. 13989)
I also wanted x16 PCI x 2 ( dual mode ) so has to run crossfire in the future . But I think running it in x8 mode will give you about the same results.
Long story short I am looking for a good board that would help me if I am interested in some overclocking.
I am pretty sure these are not the facts and I might be very far off from the truth but to be honest I have been looking at boards for almost 2 days now and I finally came to the conclusion that the Asus one might be good .
But I am still not convinced, hence any of your replies, advice & suggestions to the above are gladly welcome and would be much appreciated. Any advantages or disadvantages of either of them would be good to know as well.
PS : I have decided on the FX 8350 for now , hence I am focusing only boards supporting it.
Edit: I have updated the post with some basic values for these parts in my country ( India = Ruppees)
