I recently had the opportunity to purchase a third GTX 680 for a decent price so I grabbed it. Currently have it installed with my original 2 to make it 3 total in my gaming rig. One thing I forgot about was extra draw the third card would place on the system and while I haven’t seen any issues I can directly correlate to under-power, I do wonder.

I currently have a Corsair TX 850. I am running a Px79 PRO with a couple of SSDs, Optical drive, lots of fans  and other assorted goodies, not to mention tons of USB peripherals.

I feel I probably should replace it but thought I would ask. Is this enough power for this kind of setup? And regardless of the first answer, what would the you recommend for an upgrade?

Thanks for any advice!

Well I'm not seeing that but the fans seem underpowered now, in fact a couple stopped spinning completely until nudged with a finer.. Would that be a sign? These are some little fans that came with the RAM so I didn't give it much thought until now

Hi - realhardtech (their expertise) suggests a quality 1050w PSU for a sys with
3 680's running 3xSLI. There's headroom built in so I'd say a khw would be more than
sufficient. You sys prob could run with the TX850 you now have. But personally I would
upgrade if you have the funds to do so.

A couple to consider:
