Where is a good place to get info about all the settings available for the 9800 Pro? I'd like to be better informed, before I go changing things from the defaults.
I was after a good explanation of all the whats, whys, pros and cons of the settings available in the Advanced Properties section. A Tweak Guide, in other words. Tweak3D.net has some really good ones, but they haven't been updated since the original GForce came out.
Even if you don't install the utility, the explanations of each option allow you to make informed decisions about every option provided by the ATI drivers. I ended up with everything cranked up for maximum quality, and then backed off of a couple items, such as Anisotropic Filtering Level. Good tip on VSync! Turn it off for benchmarking, turn it on for game play.
LOL
Nothing to it really.
I have a sapphire R9800pro (128mb) and its SO DAMN FAST i have all settings up high.
A. Goto <A HREF="http://www.omegacorner.com" target="_new">http://www.omegacorner.com</A> and download the omega ati drivers.
B. Go to your openGL and direct3d settings and set: AT LEAST a screen resolution of 1024x768 ingame, coupled to 4x AA and 8x Ansio, high quality mipmaps, high quality textures, Vsynch ON.
6x AA is a bit of a waste imho as i cannot see the difference between it and 4x.
Similar thing with 16x ansio, very hard to tell the diff between 16x and 8x.
