Question Recommended upgrade from a GTX 1050 ?

I currently have a gtx1050 2gb msi oc paired with an i5-7400 and a 500psu and 8GB ram
i was wondering whats the best budget gpu that i could get without changing the processor and could handle games like 4 years from now on medium or something
also would my gtx1050 be able to handle 144hz monitor on 60fps? (i play mainly valorant)

At the very least an RTX 2060 or an RTX 3060Ti at this point of time, if you're able to get your hands on one, i.e, and if that requirement is met, that you have a PSU that can power said GPU and the entire system with said discrete GPU in the build. In 4 years time, titles will see updates and perhaps even demand more from your hardware.

Make and model of the PSU and it's age? Wattage isn't the only thing you should look at when understanding if a PSU good for upgrades.
