Recommended USB Hub, having problem with previous one?

Hi. I had a powered USB3 Hub some time ago and it was sometimes stoping my machine booting. Basically the machine was totally dead when it was plugged in before booting (worked fine if I booted then plugged it in). I am fairly sure what was happening it some of the power from the hub was going onto the computer, and the USB3 sub-system did not like this.

My computer only has 2 USB2 ports so I would really like to replace it. Anyone got any recommendations for good USB3 hubs (the previous one was a ebay one).

If you plug a USB 3 hub in a USB 2 port you will only get USB 2 speeds. So getting another USB 3 hub is a waste of money.

Indeed. I want to plug multiple things into the same USB3 ports. I have a number of drives and want them all plunged in but not nessearily all being used. USB3 is way beyond the speed most drives can deliver so actualy usibng a hub and using 2 drives plunged into the same port works fine.
