I play the FSX game a lot and I have a fairly good PC rig. My OS is Win7 Ultimate 64 Bit, 3.5 GHz processor and 8 Gig RAM. I had a Radeon HD 7770 1 GHz GDDR5 video card (PCIe 3.0 x 16) but my Mobo has 2.0 x 16 expanson slots. My PC was working fine but all of a sudden I lost video (black screen). I took it to a PC Shop and they declared that my problem was incompatibility between the video card (3.0) and the mobo (2.0). The tech first replaced the card with a Radeon HD 7790 (3.0) but that didnot work. Then he installed a Nvidia Quadro 600 (2.0) and it worked fine. Checking it's specification, the Quadro 600 was definitely inferior to the HD 7770 and it was giving me video problems when I play the FSX. I had to make my settings at a much lower level. So now I'm shopping for another video card which will allow me to play the FSX in a higher setting.
Any recommendation? And should I be concerned about the 3.0/2.0 compatability issue?

Your not supposed to. I had an issue when I used my 7950 (PCIe 3.0) and my old P55 board (PCIe 2.0). It would randomly blank screen on me once every day. Reboot would always bring it back. The problem went away when I upgraded to my current Z77X board with a 3570K (PCIE 3.0). A bios update might fix your issue.
