I am almost 15, willing to learn and want to make some money from youtube. I wanted to know how I can record videos. I've read somewhere that you have to have a really good computer to edit videos. If anyone could show me a build that can edit youtube videos, that would help. Also any softwares that I would need to edit. I dont want to spend thousands of dollars on software. And for the pc, I want to stick to around $1200 give or take $100 or so.

😀 😀

No doubt you can make an amazing computer with that much money but you don't need to spend that much to make an editing PC? That would be a good amount for a nice gaming rig. Also, if you're trying to make videos for youtube because you want to make money you won't go anywhere? People that are big on youtube do it because they love to do it and started it as a hobby that was fun for them and evolved into much more than that for them. Just doing it for the money will change your videos. You will do what you think others want to watch because you want subs and views when they all made stuff they thought was funny or amusing? If you just want the money you're in it for the wrong reason. Not saying you won't go anywhere but honestly you don't even know that you need a game capture card to record and you will pull your hair out trying to learn how to use Sony Vegas Pro which is what all big youtubers use. Here is your device to record in full HD http://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Capture-PlayStation-Recorder-10025010/dp/B00840353W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379040983&sr=8-1&keywords=elgato
Good luck.

My son used a Hauppauge HD-PVR and recorded xbox 360 game play off the component video. You don't need a terribly fast PC to drive the PVR, since you are just telling it to record, and pull compressed video over the USB. As far as video editing, he used my rig (asrock z77 extreme 4, i5-3570k, 8 gb corsair ram) with pretty good results. My rig cost around $900.

If you're open to the idea, consider migrating away from the xbox. You probably have lots of friends and chat, so going to Steam will mean making new friends. The biggest advantage that fits your situation (besides being free from MS) is that you can record your gameplay on the machine you play.
