Recording gameplay with FRAPS

If I connect my TV to my PC via VGA and start playing a game on PS3, will it appear on my PC screen and can I record that with FRAPS?

I don't believe you would be able to do that.

The PC isn't receiving data from the screen via VGA....it is just displaying what is being output from the VGA...one direction.

I can't think of a way to make that happen, unless you had data going out of your TV and into your computer.

you would need a tv tuner card of sorts, or anything with a video in stream from your tv. then you could record it.

That's true, but you'd still need some way to get the output from the TV...The TV would need some sort of signal output as well.

I don't recall seeing many (if any) of those on my TVs...I'd have to take a look. Most of the connections are inputs, I believe.
