I didn't know where else to post this, but let me start off with my specs.

Mobo: P8z77-v LE plus
Cpu: Intel i5 3550 3.5ghz
ram: 8gb patriot running at 1866
GPU: GTX 770 OC'ed
PSU: Corsair RM1000
HDD: Seagate 1tb 7200rpm 64mb cache

When ever I record a game using Dxtory I get insane lag ingame. For example playing battle field on ultra I get about 130 fps average, but when I start recording my game gets super choppy and I drop down to 40-30 fps with huge lag spikes. Even on lower settings I'm still lagging extremely bad.

Is this because my CPU isn't fast enough? Is it because my HDD is too slow and I'm running the same game I'm recording on the same HDD? I see other people recording to similar speed hard drives. Should I break down and buy a new HDD? New cpu?

its not rendering that i7 is required i5 or i3 is capable for recording i use i5 and record gameplay with msi afterburner which is a great software and it dont compromise my fps in games where as when i used fraps earlier for recording i get lags in games....

The good thing is you can record in 720p HD at 30fps while actually playing at 1080p at 60 fps

30 - 45 is not normal with that setup i know because i have practically the same PC as him like he said normally he gets 130 fps in battlefield on ultra so having 30 - 45 fps is not what you call normal
