Recording minecraft lagg

My friends and I have started a new youtube account to record videos of minecraft on and whenever I try to record on my computer on a server I lag so bad. I have all the settings as low as possible. I also have Optifine installed it helps, but still laggs. I don't really know anything about computers but here are my specs....

Windows 7

Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) ii X4 960T Processor 3.00 GHz

Installed memory (RAM): 8.00 GB (7.75 GB usable)

System type: 64-bit Operating System

My graphics card is ATI Radeon HG 4200

I'm considering buying a new graphics card but I'm not sure if I need a better processor or a better graphics card. I have about 200-230$ budget for a new processor / Graphics card. Please post below what you think will help me record better on minecraft servers.

Again, I don't know much about computers and if you need any other information please tell me below.

Your graphics card needs the update more than the CPU. Although, I would recommend saving your money and buying an upgrade for both at the same time. Make sure you have a 500+ watt Power Supply too.

If it's recording, then you need a better CPU, a better graphics card, and a better hard drive. Sorry. :/

Recording is NOT easy on a computer, and minecraft is pretty heavily CPU dependent.
