IChill X3 RTX 3060 12GB Non-LHR

240GB SSD
120GB SSD (secondary)
2TB Seagate HDD

Secondary ; Onida 32" LED TV

So, my problem is when I use OBS to record my game, suddenly in between it freezes for a few seconds and weird black screen occurs and the PC restarts.
This issue started from a week or so.

  • I tried using SLOBS but it was too laggy
  • I then reinstalled OBS
  • I then reinstalled graphics drivers ( using DDU )

But the problem remains.

Also when using anything other then NVENC (new) in OBS Works fine but I cant record game as its laggy too.
There is no problem in using any other recorder but what I want is 120FPS recording, and the option to record game sound and discord sound in seperate audio track.

This is what happens after some seconds of freezing:

Download evga precision x1 and take the target power from 100% to 80% and see if that fixes it. This will limit the cards overclock and draw less power, I know the RTX cards have power spikes, haven't heard to much on the 3060 doing it but with playing a game and using OBS it could be forcing the card to draw to much power and freeze the computer.

You can also look in the event log and see if there is a log for video card crashing. There will be critical even 41 error from an unsafe shutdown, look in the error log.

I can surely try limiting the power,
And where can I see the logs ?

Hi,

So, my problem is when I use OBS to record my game, suddenly in between it freezes for a few seconds and weird black screen occurs and the PC restarts.
This issue started from a week or so.

I'm having EXACTLY the same issue.

Were you able to resolve it? If so, how?

  • CPU: Intel Core i7-12700KF
  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS D4
  • RAM: Corsair Ballistix BL2K8G36C16U4BL [DDR4 PC4-28800 8GB x 2]
  • GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX RTX3060 O12G
  • PSU: Corsair RM850x -2018-850W [80PLUS GOLD] PS795
  • SSD: Crucial P2 CT 1000P2SSD8JP
  • CPU Cooler: ASUS AS500 R-AS500-BKNLMN-G
Nothing is overclocked.
GPU and CPU temperatures are OK.
Re-installing windows and Valorant did not help.

Are all drivers and bios up to date.

Yes.

Download evga precision x1 and take the target power from 100% to 80% and see if that fixes it.

Changing the target power to 80% did not work for me, the issue persists. Any other ideas?
Thanks for your help!
