Question Recording with OBS

Hi
I want to record my games.
I need some opinions.
Should i use two pc's or just record on the one i play the games.
I have one desktop (for gaming) and a laptop

Desktop Specs:
CPU:i5-6500
GPU: radeon r9 390
MOBO: Asus 170 Gaming pro
RAM:16 gb 2133Mhz
HDD: Western Digital 7200rpm

Laptop Specs
CPU: Ryzen 2500u
GPU: RX560x
RAM: 8 gb 2400Mhz
HDD: SSD m.2

Seriously, you may need another machine to do the recording. Didn't test the game capture with OBS on the same pc yet?
 
You should use the laptop since your system is older. If you had a newer Nvidia GPU you could use NVENC which would off load the cpu intensive work to the GPU and probably get away with using the same system.
He can plug in a monitor,even the same one he already uses, to the motherboard to activate the iGPU of the 6500 which will be able to easily handle 1080/60 recording.the encoder is called QSV in OBS.
