Recovering data from an android device with broken display

Pardon me if I post this under the wrong category.

I managed to crack the inside the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which has resulted in a broken display.

All the other functions seem to work though. Using the volume rocker give feedback sounds, I can hear the startup music when booting the device, along with receiving notifications from apps on my phone. The touch does not seem to work, though I have way of knowing this for a fact.

I have tried and failed with the use of software that mirror the screen to a PC (currently using a mac, but have access to a windows computer as well). This is both due to the fact that I do not know exactly how to locate and use adb files correctly and because my phone's "enable USB debugging" setting seems to be turned off.

Since my phone is forever locked with a pin-code that I cannot unlock since the display is broken, I can therefore not connect it with my computer to recover the data that way. The solution seems to be to either crack the phone's security without a hard reset, or solve the problem by plugging in a USB mouse to the phone with a adaptor. None of these solutions are favored, but can be considered if necessary.

The type of files I am trying to recover are some my photos that did not upload to my choice of cloud service, important sms and sms drafts and other data which cannot be refabricated.

Any help is incredibly appreciated and I will try and answer any questions related to solving the problem.

Just tried it and it only allowed me to make my phone ring, lock it with android device manager and erase the data. Could not see any option for unlocking my device.

The lock will also allow you to unlock as I recall.

Sorry for the late reply, I did not see any option of unlocking it 🙁
