I have a RAID 0 array of 2 ssd's with two identical 180gb ForceGT Corsairs that has been running well under Windows 8 64-bit. I was using them to install and run games on but running the OS on a WD 640gb seperate drive. However, under windows 8 I was having stability issues with a few games I wanted to play in steam...not related to the RAID, they were running good under Win 7 64 with the same RAID configuration.
I chose to downgrade back to Windows 7 (64 bit) in order to play the games, and stupidly backed up some of the data to the RAID 0 array. After re-installing the Windows 7 64b, the array is not recognized properly. In Disk Management, both ssds are shown separately as Healthy, Primary Partitions with no drive letter assigned. I'm unable to see the array as a single volume in explorer. The only option available for each drive in Disk Management is to 'Convert to dynamic disk'.
The motherboard I'm using is a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD4H, have already installed the RAID drivers for Windows 7 from Gigabyte's site and fully updated Windows 7.
Looking for a tool to recover the backup or a solution that will allow me to use the arrary in Win 8 without formatting and losing my data. thanks
