Recovery disk

Hi, I am trying to reboot my laptop, so I insert the first recovery disk and i should have the option to boot to cd, but i don't.
I have an Asus and the system is Window XP.
Any idea of what can I do?

Open the bios settings and set the CD to boot first.
Download the entire manual from the Asus website, all the boot options and instructions are in the manual.
