Recovery Key required

I have a WD Passport and have just pictures stored on it. I haven't used it in a few years. When I tried to open it to download some pics the message asks for a recovery key. Which I don't have or have forgotten. Any ideas how to get the pics?

In some instances, it is possible for a data recovery professional to bypass the password and access the data, but the odds are quite low. With the data being encrypted, you are best to click on the password hint and hope that you remember what it is.
