[SOLVED] Recovery of deleted files

I accidentally deleted a folder on W10 destop
Used RECUVA it found all files .... all were marked as excellent
Ran Recover and saved to a different HD


All 243 files are there .... but no one of them will open .....
They all have correct icons .... and are jpeg,png, cr2, dng, mov, mp4
But on every single one of them, I get error "It appears we don't support this file format"

I use Easus data recovery pro. It works great. It can even find files deleted some time ago, as long as they haven't been written over. Give it a shot.

the extensions are already there …. .jpg, .MP4, .mov. Etc.

First, did you look in the Recycle Bin?

Your chances of recovery are a lot lower if this folder was in your OS drive and you're still running an OS off of it. You need -- or at least, needed at this point -- to take the whole drive out and run Recuva on another drive with an OS installed, not on the drive you're recovering from.

Honestly, it's probably easier to just restore the files from the backups you kept.
