I'm setting up my secondary HDD drive after getting my SSD today and was thinking of creating a recovery partition for any backups, system images, etc. for quick access should it be needed, kind of like those recovery partitions you get with laptops. Does anyone have advice on how big I should make, or if I just shouldnt bother?

The HDD is 1 TB (so about 930 gb free) and the SSD is 250 gb (so about 232 gb free)

Creating a backup disk image of your system drive is certainly worthwhile and is something I've been doing for something like ten years. There is no need to dedicate a partition to it on your HDD though, unless you want to.

You just need some drive imaging software. I personally use Active@ Disk Image but there are free alternatives.
