Hello,

I come for help with my pc after weeks of attempts and research. This is my last try before I send it back for fixing.

About two month ago, my monitor started losing the signal while gaming, staying like that and forcing a manual reboot. Now I've seen this issue explained quite a lot but the answers are not always helpful, apart from a RMA. Which is what I did. So I sent back my faulty GTX 960 4GB, which it was, and got sent a GTX 1060 3GB, which was cool.

Fast forward to yesterday. I attach the 1060 and lo and behold! Same problem. After about 15 min to an hour of gaming, on multiple different games, monitor loses signal and doesn't find it again. Ever. I've tried with both a HDMI cable and a DVI cable. Same problem.

Another problem started to appear as well. The computer would suddenly restart while gaming. So I went and researched and it mentioned faulty PSU. I've also seen mention that the Corsair CX750M wasn't a good PSU at all. It's done it two times, but I haven't done anything since then as I am worried it might damage the rest. What PSU should I get if I where to replace this one? I'm looking for a really good one.

My question is are the two problems related? The GPU signal loss and the PSU restarts? Or am I wrong? I'm about to RMA both units unless you think its only one of the two. I'm hoping to test my GPU on a friend's PC. Could it be the build quality? The temps seem ok, I've been monitoring them and nothing is overheating.

Another final question, while I'm at it, is about the build itself. A friend helped me build it and as he gave me a screen with it, I kind of let him do his thing. Are their problems with it? It ran perfectly between May 2016 and January 2017. I ran Total War Warhammer on it, on Ultra with no problems. Things kind of happened suddenly.

My specs,

-EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 Gaming - 3 Go.
-EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SSC Gaming ACX 2.0 - 4 Go

-Intel Core i5-6600K (3.5 GHz)

-MSI Z170A SLI PLUS

-G.Skill RipJaws 4 Series Rouge 16 Go (2x 8 Go) DDR4 2666 MHz CL15

-Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 SATA 6Gb/s 1 To

-SanDisk SSD PLUS 120 Go

-Noctua NH-U12S

-Microsoft 10 64 bits Family

-Corsair CX750M 80PLUS Bronze

Well, its hard to say for 100% certain. The random reboots during gaming along with video signal loss are why I'm leaning on PSU. To check, there are no BSODs before the restarts?

Regarding voltage, the spec for PSU is 5% tolerance. For 12v, 11.4 would be lowest for being in tolorence. However, bios reading isn't always the most accurate. Also, be aware that under load such as gaming, this voltage can fluctuate, typically drop some. This varies greatly on PSU quality.
Restarts with no warning are often PSU or temp related. Your loss of video is also typically GPU itself or driver related. Since you changed GPUs, have you used different drivers? Looks like no overclock on your PC. Is this correct? Do you have latest UEFI for your motherboard? Also, could be worth a shot using onboard video on your motherboard to see if issue occurs.

I erased all the drivers using DDU and installed the latest one. I disabled OC though I have the option of turning it on in the BIOS. I have the latest BIOS if thats what you mean by UEFI.

Before I switched GPUs, I was using the intergrated graphics and everything was working fine, implying a problem with the GPU. Its only now with the new card that the problems came back with the added pc restarts on top of it.

Ok. Being same issue with 2 GPUs I doubt its a GPU issue. Onboard video working with same monitor implies general system is working normally. I'd suspect PSU at this point. What does your BIOS indicate for 12v, 5v, and 3.3? It could be the demand for 12V when using added GPU causes to much fluctuation in voltage causing the issue.

Ok i'll go check that and tell you. So you think even the monitor losing signal could be linked to the psu screwing up?

Edit: This is what I have:

- 3.3V: 1.672V

- 5V: 5.040V

-12V: 12.000V

Haven't had a single BSOD. Do you think that any other component could be faulty or just the PSU and GPU?

Thanks a lot for you help man its good to get some feedback!
