Hey all, I would like to begin by stating that I really couldn't decide what category to post this question in, so I chose Windows 7 due to the fact that the crashes are all software related (or so I believe they are).

Okay, I have had a PC for about a year now that my father and I built for me to use mainly for gaming, and as such it is quite high end. It has an i7-950, GTX 570, and ASUS P6X58D-e motherboard, just in case that may be relevant. Anyway, a few months ago I experienced a crash while playing a recently installed game. The game froze and the computer reset, and I thought it was just a crash so I resumed playing the game after it booted. However, it yet again failed at the exact same point. At this point I asked my old man for some help with it, and he went on to check the memory, hard disk, etc. and finally used a restore point to make it boot. So that was that.

However, since then, this has happened to me 4 or 5 times with various games (always during a game, never internet or other programs) and I have just proceeded to use restore points to fix it without much trouble.

My problem is that I am worried that it has crashed like this often, and I wonder if there is a deeper issue with the PC than what is at face value. Is it possible that this is just being caused by drivers and such that keep causing this to happen? And what else, if anything, might cause these types of issues?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated by me, and I would just like to thank everybody in advance for you reading this post and helping me out. So thank you everybody!

Side notes: ■Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
■One of the crashed was caused by an AVG update
■I have checked CPU and GPU temps before, and they are in the normal range

Have a Happy New Year everyone!
